POST LOCKDOWN SCENARIO FOR DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES
WHEN THE FIRST COVID 19 CASE WITH ITS S.A.R.S. VERSION REACHED THE ARRIVAL BAY OF INDIAN AIRPORT, THE POSITION OF THE DOCTORS WAS ALREADY POLARISED in society. Presently doctors, nurses, paramedics, laboratory assistants, and all caregivers are the real actors, performers, heroes, and the driving force behind the pandemic eradication. We must acknowledge the contribution.
POST LOCKDOWN, BUSINESS AND COMMERCE/ HEALTH INDUSTRY
Investors must see the health care industry as a major promise in the future.
Existing hospitals require to modify the faculties of Medicine, Intensive Care, Anesthesia, Communicable diseases, and Virology.
Number of beds are required to be increased.
Number of beds are required to be increased.
We need service apartments for doctors and nursing staff on the campuses.
The government may give quick approvals for many public-private partnerships.
The government may give approvals for medical colleges, teaching hospitals, pathology, and diagnostic laboratories, etc.
The government may allot or auction more greenfields for the purpose.
Export of specific medicines, kits, etc. may increase multifold.
By enhanced layout in GDP for health Government may radically expand its share in public services and outsource work to corporate or self-sustaining private hospitals within reach of the masses.
There could be a subsidy in raising a health establishment.
POST-LOCKDOWN HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
There is a likelihood of attractive incentives to join rural health services.
An increase in job opportunities for doctors, nurses, paramedics, and laboratory technicians and diagnostic professionals is on the anvil.
The stream of medicine, intensivists, chest experts, anesthetists, pathologists, rehabilitation experts, psychiatrists will increase.
We may have specialty physicians dealing with only senior citizens, and old age diabetologists.
There could be the announcement of Indian Medical Services opening up a sparkling civil services regime of career attracting the youth to improvise the health care system of the nation, threadbare.
IT professionals may be engaged for sharper sync of medical records into digital data and convergence of multiple providers and the existing programs on the subject may remarkably speed up.
POST-LOCKDOWN INSURANCE INDUSTRY/IRDA
We may see new products on mediclaim policies, communicable diseases, life covers, and professional indemnity for doctors.
Existing Professional Indemnity Policies are to be screened by the medicos.
There should be aware about the terms and conditions of the policy contract, with coverage by the inclusive "communicable diseases" clause. Reportedly, few FIRs have been registered under the relevant provisions of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, Disaster Management Act, 2005 and the Indian Penal Code by the Union or State Government against hospitals, nursing homes or doctors for allegedly not complying with Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for COVID MANAGEMENT, and, therefore, made liable for creating a COVID hotspot if fresh patients detected positive were traced to them or their establishments. Doctors need protection in such cases also.
POST LOCKDOWN CONSOLIDATION BY HEALTH INDUSTRY
Post-Covid 19 lockdown and during the revival, the entire population of the country shall still be in anxiety, apprehension, and confusion.
Clinical practices shall have to be more compassionate and patient-centric demanding more attention from the medicos.
Corporate hospitals MUST ENGAGE PROFESSIONALLY QUALIFIED PR heads to keep ALL THE PATIENTS IN HAPPY STATE IN THE OPDs, indoors admission, and prevent violence and conflict at all costs.
Effort should be made by the governments to run at least for 2 years, audiovisual and educational campaigns, LIVE PROGRAMS AND TALK SHOWS, OPEN HOUSES DISCUSSIONS, in order to sensitize the public on the sacrifice of the medical fraternity and the respect they deserve.
We need not engage any superstars or celebrities for the purpose.
People should be allowed to connect with people. Doctors are also people, one of the most law-abiding citizens, but unheard so far.
THEREFORE, IT IS TIME TO INVITE ONLY DOCTORS WHO HAVE RUN SILENTLY, THE MEDICAL INDIA, TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH THEIR OWN PEOPLE AND INTERACT WITH THEM DIRECTLY !
